1. 01

   Income check

   no cost·~1 wk

   €3,500+ a month after tax, plus 20% for a spouse and 15% per child. Your employer or clients must be outside Greece.

2. 02

   Documents

   $500·~3 wk

   Contract or employer letter, recent bank statements, health insurance, apostilled police certificate.

3. 03

   National D visa

   $150·~4 wk

   Apply at a Greek consulate. The visa is valid for 12 months: you can live and work remotely right after arrival.

4. 04

   The move

   $3,000·~3 wk

   A lease in Athens or Thessaloniki, AFM tax number, a bank account.

5. 05

   2-year residence permit

   $1,100·~8 wk

   Before the visa expires you apply for the digital nomad permit. It renews as long as the income stays.
