The route, step by step

1. 01

   Visa-free entry

   $1,800·~1 wk

   Citizens of many countries, including Russia, the EU and the US, can live in Georgia for up to a year without a visa. We check your passport.

2. 02

   Entrepreneur registration

   $100·~1 wk

   One day at the Public Service Hall: translated passport and a registered address — a lease or the owner’s consent.

3. 03

   Small-business status

   no cost·~2 wk

   1% tax on turnover up to GEL 500,000 a year. Consulting and some activities do not qualify, so we check before registering.

4. 04

   Bank and reporting

   $500·~2 wk

   An account at TBC or Bank of Georgia and a monthly tax return. A missed return means a fine and a risk of losing the status.

5. 05

   Work permit and residence

   $400·~8 wk

   Since 2026 foreigners need a work permit to work in Georgia. Residence goes through employment or property.
