The UAE Golden Visa is a long-term residence permit valid for 5 or 10 years, issued with no sponsor required. It is one of the fastest and most accessible routes to legal status in one of the world's most dynamic countries. Unlike most immigration programs, the process takes just two weeks with the right approach.
UAE Golden Visa categories
The Golden Visa program serves a wide range of applicants. It is not just for investors — highly qualified professionals, entrepreneurs, scientists and even outstanding students can qualify.
- •🏠 Real estate investors: a purchase of AED 2 million or more (~$545,000) — 10-year visa
- •💼 Entrepreneurs: a business with capital of AED 500,000+, or a patent/innovation
- •👨💼 Professionals: a salary of AED 30,000+/month or a role in a priority sector
- •🎓 Outstanding students and graduates: GPA of 3.75+ at leading universities
- •🔬 Scientists and researchers: nomination by an authorized UAE body
- •⭐ Exceptional talent in the arts, sport and culture
The two-week process, step by step
The full journey from initial consultation to receiving your Emirates ID typically takes 10–14 working days once your documents are in order. Here is how it plays out in practice:
- •Days 1–2: Consultation, choosing a category, preparing documents
- •Days 3–4: Filing the application through ICP (Federal Authority for Identity) or Tasheel
- •Days 5–7: Medical examination (mandatory)
- •Days 8–10: Biometrics (fingerprints, photo)
- •Days 10–14: Issuance of the Emirates ID and the visa stamp in your passport
💡 Important: for most categories the application is filed inside the country, provided you are already in the UAE on any legal basis. If you are in Russia, fly to the UAE on a tourist visa first, then apply for the Golden Visa.
